U.S. Ambassador Spoke About the Czech-U.S. Space Story
On June 6, U.S. Ambassador Nicholas Merrick delivered an inspiring speech at Planetum in Prague, celebrating the long-standing cooperation between the United States and the Czech Republic and Czechoslovakia in space exploration. He mentioned Apollo astronauts Jim Lovell and Eugene Cernan, the Artemis II mission, and the planned VAST mission with Czech astronaut Aleš Svoboda.
The event marked the official announcement that VAST signed an agreement with ESA for Aleš Svoboda's flight to the International Space Station in 2027.
We are happy that ADVACAM's Timepix technology is part of this story. It is used for radiation monitoring on the Artemis II mission. At AdvaSpace, we are proud to build our space radiation monitoring solutions on the same Timepix technology developed by ADVACAM. This technology is already flying on the Artemis II mission and many other space missions. We are excited to continue this Czech space heritage with new radiation monitoring products and services.
