AdvaSpace Selected Among the Top 10 Business Ideas in the Czech Republic

June 10, 2026

AdvaSpace has been selected as one of the Top 10 finalists in this year's Nápad roku (Idea of the Year) competition, one of the Czech Republic's leading competitions for new business concepts.

A total of 189 projects entered the competition. Based on their business plans and pitch presentations, a panel of 13 entrepreneurs, investors, and business leaders selected ten finalists. The overall winner will be announced later this autumn. We are honored to stand alongside a remarkable group of founders and innovators who are building globally ambitious businesses from day one.

For AdvaSpace, the selection is an independent validation of the business concept behind our space weather monitoring and radiation intelligence services.

The project builds on radiation detection technology already proven in space. Timepix-based detectors developed within the AdVisiones group operate aboard the International Space Station and have been selected for future missions, including the Gateway lunar station. AdvaSpace is now bringing this expertise to commercial markets.

Our solution combines the MiniPIX SPACE detector with Space Weather Intelligence, a service for processing and interpreting radiation data. Unlike conventional dosimeters, the system can distinguish between different types of radiation particles and assess their impact on spacecraft and onboard electronics.

The need for these capabilities continues to grow. Modern society increasingly depends on satellite infrastructure, while the number of active satellites is expected to exceed 100,000 by 2030. Reliable monitoring of the space environment is becoming an important part of mission planning and risk management.

Since the beginning of 2026, AdvaSpace has engaged with customers and partners across Europe, North America, the Middle East, and Asia. Participation in the Nápad roku program also provides access to mentoring and feedback from experienced entrepreneurs, investors, and industry experts. We thank the organizers, jury members, and mentors of the Nápad roku competition for the opportunity and look forward to the final stage later this year.
